Meet Emily
I have loved living in Bozeman for the past 13 years, but I was born and raised in a rural town in central Pennsylvania. My childhood was filled with climbing trees, camping, playing soccer, dancing, and going on family road trips out west. My educational journey led me to pursue and obtain a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State University.
Due to my love for the mountains and outdoor recreation I decided to move to Bozeman in 2011. I spent six years working as a crisis counselor at the Bozeman Help Center, where I found fulfillment in helping people with their mental health and relationship struggles. Thus, I attended graduate school at Montana State University and earned my Master’s in Counseling.
For the past 6 years, I have been using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples, individuals, and families navigate their emotional challenges, develop new ways of connecting, and heal their relationship bonds. My therapeutic style is to be very empathetic, while at the same time, transparent and direct with my clients. I create and foster a safe environment where my clients and I can be honest with one another.
When I’m not working, I love adventuring in the mountains with my partner, daughter, and my little Blue Heeler, Layla. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, dancing, and playing my guitar!
Meet MATT
I grew up in northern New York and earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering that led to a varied career path in business management. My lifelong curiosity about human behavior and a passion for understanding life’s deeper questions ultimately led me to the field of counseling.
I work with individuals, couples, and families to help them navigate life’s challenges and create more fulfilling relationships. My approach is attachment-based, integrating Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support meaningful and lasting change. I have completed the EFT Externship, the first step toward ICEEFT certification, and also draw from Solution-Focused and Existential perspectives.
The counseling relationship is a collaborative process. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, clarify and modify what’s not working, so you can move toward greater emotional balance, self-awareness, and connection. You don’t have to do this alone—healing and growth are possible.
After twelve years in Montana, I’m proud to call it home. Outside the counseling room, I enjoy river kayaking, camping, stage performance, and a lifelong pursuit of personal growth and learning.
