Meet Emily

I have loved living in Bozeman for the past 13 years, but I was born and raised in a rural town in central Pennsylvania. My childhood was filled with climbing trees, camping, playing soccer, dancing, and going on family road trips out west. My educational journey led me to pursue and obtain a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State University.

Due to my love for the mountains and outdoor recreation I decided to move to Bozeman in 2011. I spent six years working as a crisis counselor at the Bozeman Help Center, where I found fulfillment in helping people with their mental health and relationship struggles. Thus, I attended graduate school at Montana State University and earned my Master’s in Counseling.

For the past 6 years, I have been using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples, individuals, and families navigate their emotional challenges, develop new ways of connecting, and heal their relationship bonds. My therapeutic style is to be very empathetic, while at the same time, transparent and direct with my clients. I create and foster a safe environment where my clients and I can be honest with one another.

When I’m not working, I love adventuring in the mountains with my partner, daughter, and my little Blue Heeler, Layla. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, dancing, and playing my guitar!

Meet Danielle

My name is Danielle and I am a graduate student studying marriage and family therapy at Capella University. Montana has always been my home as I was born and raised in Great Falls and moved to Bozeman for college 7 years ago. I am very close with my family and I love being actively involved in my nieces and nephew’s lives.

Once I came to Bozeman, I fell in love with the mountains, the food scene, hiking, and exploring. After graduating with my bachelor's, I worked at a mental health center where I developed/deepened my passion for helping people who struggle with mental health. I have extensive experience working as a nanny. Through this experience, I witnessed different family systems and learned the importance of supporting children and their parents. My work as a nanny was so special and fulfilling that it has inspired me to focus on counseling couples, families, and children.

I use a systemic approach with my clients as we are all impacted by relationships, intergenerational patterns, life transitions, culture, and societal norms. My therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, and compassionate as I want to create an environment where my clients feel safe and understood as they work towards meeting their goals. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy in my work with individuals, couples, and families as I believe in vulnerability and the power of an experiential approach. I offer the first four sessions for free and then a generous sliding fee scale. I am very excited to meet you!
